Kids with disabilities left off the infographic poster— wonder how they’re included in the bill? I realize the bill likely includes more, but the fact that kids I serve every day didn’t make the poster is… telling. No, I’m not going to stop talking about this.

Things teachers want to say to parents… -Take the phone away at night. Your kid isn’t getting enough sleep. -Don’t believe everything your kid says. They lie…A LOT! -Teach your kid to have some grit. Also teach them to be nice! -Stop blaming everyone for your kid’s issues.

Aaannddd another parent makes the argument all students should be served. Which is what public schools try our best to do, as directed by law, unlike private schools. So fund us appropriately, please, so we can do our jobs. LEARNS takes tax dollars and puts them in private hands.

Folks struggle to separate issues of practice from systemic issues. “Teachers aren’t doing their jobs” is very different than “Teachers are doing their best within a deeply flawed education system”. Let’s get better at critiquing systems & not just the individuals within them
