Cllr James Mallinder, ward member for Deben and bellringer joined his fellow ringers to ring the bells at Hollesley parish church at 6.30pm along with other churches across the UK for half an hour to commemorate the 80th anniversary of VJ Day.

Cllr Mallinder, ward member for Deben recently met with the local WI group in Shottisham to discuss their much-needed kitchen upgrade. Through his Enabling Community Budget, he has donated £3,000. The village hall is the heart of the community and is used by many local groups

Cllrs Myles Scrancher & Letitia Smith, ward members for Carlton Colville used £2,402 from their budgets to setup a new Men’s Shed. Their contributions have supported the opening and running of the new initiative with the aim for it to be self-funding going forward.

Cllr Debbie McCallum, ward member for Kesgrave recently funded the Kesgrave Kestrels under 10’s football team. Funding has supported the purchase of kits, new sports equipment, and training courses for 20 young players allowing the boys to play regularly and enjoy the fresh air

Councillor Debbie McCallum, ward member for Kesgrave attended the 11am Remembrance Sunday service at Legion Green, Kesgrave yesterday to honour and remember the service and sacrifice of the servicemen and women in the two World Wars and later conflicts.
