Today in horse history--and EAS history, too: Denmark's Lis Hartel was the first woman to win an Olympic equestrian medal (dressage) in 1952's Helsinki Games. And,she did it as a polio survivor unable to use her lower legs, plus incomplete use of hands, arms. Let's celebrate her!
