Having a perfect swing does not necessarily mean that you are going to be a good hitter!! Mindset, approach, focus, pitch recognition along with the willingness to compete are far more important than the swing itself!!

We all need to remember that baseball is still a game played by real people! It is not a scientific experiment or mathematics formula! Very difficult to quantify heart, competitiveness, instincts and much more!! Use the data but don’t become completely dependent on the numbers!

No doubt. A lot of that “easy” action comes from having great game between the ears! Hard to make it look easy when we’re fighting against ourselves.

Give yourself permission not to be perfect-give yourself permission not to get 3 hits today-however U have to be the best competitor on the field today or U will have a zero chance of being the best player on the field and you’re cheating your teammates they need right U playing

If U have a game tonight and you’re not playing with 100% Confidence it tells me that U are letting stats or last nights bad game play tonight-stop it-play tonight like it’s a playoff game-its not about you it’s about you helping your team tonight-2 completely different players👊

Sent this Monday. A parent asked that I share it on social media. After some thought- here it is. I’m passionate about my approach with youth baseball. I hate the travel ball model- everyone knows that. But this is how I try to make it work. Every pitch/ every time

New fave athlete. He looks annoyed and bored with having to do the interview. I think he knows the secret: chasing external/societal gratification (stats, wins, championships, awards) is fleeting, vain, and often hollow. The real measuring stick is in the work and improvement

@michael_schlact Tough to be emotional AND smart. If you have to choose, choose smart! I'm not sure emotions help in baseball. There is always a next play. Play with energy, passion, toughness. Save emotions for the fans.
