Yes we’re all very likely getting infected by this virus at some point(s). But we’re also likely to get in car accidents at some point(s). That doesn’t mean you close your eyes and let go of the wheel.

Whenever I do a metaphor, some wise guys reply that these two things are not identical. So, to get ahead of this … I’m saying that car accidents and viral infections work exactly the same way and their literal mechanics are identical.
