Arda Guler going to be easily the best player in the US’ group this summer, he’s why Turkey will probably beat out the US for first place

Finally some good World Cup news. No party quite like a Philly tailgate, if I'm going to pay so much for this event I want it to be an all-day celebration when I show up on June 14.

People complain, but most of the World Cup games were priced appropriately for demand. The ones on this list, though, were not.

I’ve never seen a video skit more relatable than this one, absolutely brilliant 😂👏 (So glad Florian Ederer resurfaced it) But for real - basic rule of thumb: I’m unavailable for life during the World Cup 😀

Good, Iran deserves to be in the tournament, and the US had better do everything it can to allow them to arrive on time and be safe and secure their whole time in the country

There shouldn’t ever be a set time they’re wiped - it should just be if you get 2 yellows in a three game stretch then you get suspended

The ONLY way tournament expansion can be good is if they tinker with selection criteria/the NET to make it more equitable. Of course, they are not going to do that.

Except first four out doesn't necessarily mean "would have been teams #69-#72 if the field was larger." It's more of a "Here are four teams we talked about but kept finding reasons not to include" list. And our fear is they'll just keep moving the goal posts away from the mids.

Dennis Bakke (@dwbakke) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The real problem with tournament expansion is that they aren't going to change how they evaluate teams, so it's just going to be more mediocre teams with strong schedules picked ahead of teams with great records but one or two bad losses that eliminate them from contention.

A lot of nostalgia for a tournament that included some awful games in the KO rounds (France-Portugal, Portugal-Netherlands, Switzerland-Ukraine). It was a solid World Cup but definitely not the best.

Dennis Bakke (@dwbakke) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The real problem is the criteria that the committee emphasizes to select teams (usually whichever metrics benefit the bigger team) and expansion isn’t going to solve that at all, only make it more obvious

If there's one solution to partisan gerrymandering that both parties generally agree to, it's that the House should be "uncapped" and expanded to reflect today's population, not 1911. Gerrymandering will still happen but not as effectively bc local pop shifts are more common.
