Every person can harm another. de-moralize and de-personalize harm as an affront to our being and as a signifier of someone’s lose of humanity. We all harm and we all heal. When we aren’t able to respect or trust another person it replicates. We lose connection. We feel alone.

Reminder that suffering is a prerequisite for gaining services in nearly every context of social services which requires people to use it as currency. Reminder to not project suffering onto anybody today because it just makes your own day worse.

If someone feels a way about something just trust them on that and meet them with it don’t assume that they just don’t know how they feel, this is why liberal social services never gets to have real ass relationships w ppl everyone is too busy projecting

Meeting ppl where they are at is so much deeper than ‘chill w them when high.’ It’s also challenging our emotional processes to not project our feelings and instead genuinely meet ppl with the emotional response they have. That’s what true solidarity is.

It’s still worth reading, but I recommend these books on trauma: - The Deepest Well by Dr. Nadine Burke Harris Dr. Nadine Burke Harris - My Grandmother’s Hands by Resmaa Menakem @ResmaaMenakem - What My Bones Know by Stephanie Foo emi

if you are someone who was able to overlook the genocide and cast a vote for kamala harris, then you already understand how a conservative was able to overlook Trump's extremism to vote for him.

Don’t overthink the future. Just think about each day for a while if you have to. We cannot comprehend the insurmountable ways that the world is about to change, it’s too big. Literally. So stop trying. You don’t need to know. But you do need to find the will to survive.
