Moroccan forces had spent days attacking the refugees in the hills near the border. On the day itself the police stood by to let the group approach the border & then attacked from behind

The dead, dying & severely injured were dragged from the border post & dumped like carcasses. They were left for hours with their hands tied behind their backs & even in this state the beatings continued

People were left at least 3hrs in the full sun. No medical staff were seen helping them on site. The ambulances present throughout were reportedly only used to remove the dead. In Spain, an ambulance stayed 100m from the border because of concerns for the safety of medics.

Spain insists it acted legally & only Morocco is answerable. But people were crushed on Spanish territory. Its forces also pushed nearly 500 people back into danger. & Spanish officials had a close-up view of everything as it unfolded
