This is what happens when politicians constantly blame all economic and social ills on โ€˜immigrantsโ€™. A culture of blame and hate is being fostered, particularly by the far right, and enhanced by the main stream media, including the BBC, who give them disproportionate airtime.

BBC-The BBC making stories up about tax may go up ,they don't know that ,there just making stories up,is growth a bad thing now!!!!I am so sick of our media.

I hadnโ€™t appreciated that it requires a change in French maritime law for their border guards to lawfully apprehend migrants from shallow waters to prevent them getting into boats to cross the Channel. The French have now agreed to change the law. Well done Yvette Cooper

Lot of anger about the fact that this government ordered a review by Baroness Casey to be carried out, into the data on grooming gangs , and it is following her recommendations, mostly from the media who wanted one, weird. ๐Ÿคท

there arenโ€™t enough honours in the UK system for Louise Casey an entire career of running towards messy, complicated problems, looking them squarely in the face, and truth-seeking above politicking an absolute hero and we are lucky to have her

God forbid that we should have a Prime Minister with the good manners to pick something from the floor that a man 17 years his senior has dropped. Obviously the Conservatives believe this to be the job of one of the little people.

Toby Perkins MP (@tobyperkinsmp) 's Twitter Profile Photo

It is so telling that the Conservatives think there is something pathetic about common courtesy and generosity- and think it is a quality to be despised.

Peter Stefanovic (@peterstefanovi2) 's Twitter Profile Photo

What point are Conservatives making with this? If a man of almost eighty dropped his papers in front of me I would be the first to help pick them up as I hope most would. So if the point the opposition is making is to praise politeness on the world stage itโ€™s a point well made๐Ÿ‘

What summaries #Starmer-that the guy has manners, -helping an older man who may have problems bending down?? #Tories...you lose: again.

Really proud to have worked with Society of London Theatre to finally get the Official London Theatre Ticket Booth reopened! Thanks to all the shows that came down to support today. Westminster City Council partially funded works through NCIL, as part of our partnership with SOLT. Up next: @WestEndLIV!

I honestly think the tide is turning. Each week more people like and repost my lists (thank you). More of the good stuff that Labour are doing is getting out. In spite of the media. More people are being made aware. This is really positive just ahead of their first anniversary

Nigel Farage didn't bother to show up for the abortion debate. Guess where he is today? That's right he's hosting surgeries in Clacton. Oh no he isn't! He's at Ascot. Priorities and all that. Man of the people
