I feel that the MET is supportive of the officer but just stopping short of outright saying so. news.met.police.uk/news/officer-f…

Not sure this was a training exercise to be observed. Perhaps the officer was concerned about ending up in court for using force 🤷‍♂️.

Watching this body-worn camera footage, it's incredible how police officers maintain their professionalism in the face of Anderson's self-pity. While he laments his 'worst day,' we remember the true victims - an 8-month-old baby and his 30-year-old aunt - and their grieving

Waste time and effort creating an offence that already exists. Assaulting a retail worker has always been illegal. Waste of parliaments time and just creation of more offence codes and reporting. Just fund enforcement better.

How do we as police change the opinion of the public? I have spent hundreds of hours trying to convict DAs. Made multiple breach of bail arrests and the courts just let them out again the next morning to re-offend.

What we need to do is work out how dealing with a shop theft of £20 doesn’t cost the public purse £500 in officer and court time for them to then get a fine of £100 which doesn’t get paid.

Given a percentage of that 92% will be nominals burgling nominals and an over zealous crime recording we no longer have true numbers. What % of those are no-victim support?
