Waste time and effort creating an offence that already exists. Assaulting a retail worker has always been illegal. Waste of parliaments time and just creation of more offence codes and reporting. Just fund enforcement better.

How do we as police change the opinion of the public? I have spent hundreds of hours trying to convict DAs. Made multiple breach of bail arrests and the courts just let them out again the next morning to re-offend.

My understanding is there was never a shoplifting limit for police. It was a limit for summary or either way.

What we need to do is work out how dealing with a shop theft of £20 doesn’t cost the public purse £500 in officer and court time for them to then get a fine of £100 which doesn’t get paid.

Out of 14 court glorious court days last year 13 were on cancelled rest days and I gave evidence zero times.

Given a percentage of that 92% will be nominals burgling nominals and an over zealous crime recording we no longer have true numbers. What % of those are no-victim support?
