"The good news is that we have almost all the technologies we need, their costs are mostly low and dropping... At this time, we need social acceptance and political willpower to affect a change. I am optimistic we can obtain both."

We don't often have the chance to meet up in person, so it was fantastic to have so many Ducks in the same office last week in Oslo! We've made remote work effective since long before COVID but it's still nice to meet up face to face every once in a while.

Ditching fossil fuels - fast - wasn't so hard after all: Europe dumped Russian gas, oil and coal with striking speed, moving forward its energy transition by 5 years or more - permanently swapping out previously alleged "entrenched" fossils All in 1 year bloomberg.com/news/features/…

Finland is aiming to go carbon neutral in 15 years. They're creating jobs by boosting #renewables and saving trees. Its CO2 emissions have already dropped 21% since 1990s levels. We have the solutions, let's speed it up and implement them. #ActOnClimate #climate #energy

Excellent reminder that we have the technology to transition to renewable energy! We just need to collective will, and we're getting there. There's cause for optimism yet.

Did you know you can save 0.92 TONS of greenhouse gas emissions annually by biking to work instead of driving? By biking, a person with an average footprint of 11 tons per year can decrease their footprint by 8.4%.

The IPCC reports are always intimidating (even the Summary for Policymakers is 36 pages). But take 10 minutes out of your day to go through their headline statements at least: ipcc.ch/report/ar6/syr…
