This past week, every day or so we’ve been branding calves & today it was our steers. It will likely be a different branding season this year. A big crew is always lots of fun, but processing with a table or chute can be very efficient. Whatever you do, stay safe! #gelbvieh

Today, I sent a letter to MP Pat Finnigan, Chair of the House of Commons' Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food, asking the committee to undertake a study on the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on Canadian #agriculture, and specifically on the #beef sector.

These have been hard times, but one thing is for certain it makes you feel even more appreciative of the whole team approach it takes to get food from farms and ranches to the plates of Canadians and our international neighbours. #gratefulforthefoodheroes #thankyou #trade

Probably the worst hail/flooding crop damage I have seen in 20+ years as an agronomist. Hail was a foot deep last night after the storm video taken about 2 pm today. Artesian well even opened up where never wet before. Unfortunately it's my #canola crop....... #abstorm #hail
