(1/2) Last week, we were honoured to showcase our Research & Development Lab to members of the Department of Industry, Science and Resources @iisa_board. The 'journey of REMi' tour began at the RMIT Research MicroNanoResearch lab, then Functional Materials and Microsystems, before preceding to Sleeptite's very own R&D facility.

Happy International Women in Engineering Day! Special call out to the phenomenal women in Functional Materials and Microsystems and MetaOptics who I have the privilege to work with and mentor. #INWED22 @WomenSciAUST RMIT Research

This afternoon Sleeptite were delighted to host Jane O'Dwyer @[email protected] (CEO - Cooperative Research Australia (CRA) ) for a tour of the “Labs that led to REMi”. From RMIT University 's MicroNanoResearch and Functional Materials and Microsystems Lab through to the #Sleeptite Lab… the #CRA have been part of the journey with us since 2018.

To non-invasively measure biomarkers, the most promising near-term option is wearables that use light, combining sources and detectors. Functional Materials and Microsystems's Shanmuga Sundar Dhanabalan (Dr Shanmuga Sundar) shares his views in this perspective article: photonics.com/Articles/Expan… RMIT Research MetaOptics

Extremely excited that with the support of @DETVic, we will lead the establishment of a Victorian Medical Device Prototyping and Scale-Up Facility RMIT University. rmit.edu.au/news/all-news/… Gayle Tierney MP Dan Andrews RMIT Research Sharath Sriram Madhu Bhaskaran 1/2

Stoked to see this!! :-) Huge congratulations to the team Sleeptite, Functional Materials and Microsystems,Sleepeezee.

We are privileged to host a talented team of 40 researchers Functional Materials and Microsystems! To support our early-career researchers, we have reorganised our research and translation focus into themes, led by our emerging superstars! fmm.rmit.edu.au #ECRs #WomenInSTEM RMIT Research 1/2

We showcase MetaOptics and Functional Materials and Microsystems latest work - using light to selectively and sensitively detect glucose in liquid. This patented tech offers immense potential for non invasive glucose sensing! It is also miniaturised, Bluetooth enabled and runs off a battery.
