New episode out this morning on the environmental impact of technology. Phones never die. They're eaten by birds. apple.co/2m6yzJI

For those listeners to the last ep that find the Fairphone Newsroom as promising as I do, check this out... The Fairphone is just as modular and repairable as claimed: theverge.com/circuitbreaker…

I often find myself bothered by the sterility of current design (and prone to blame Apple). Japanese architecture and industrial design can be gonzo, but there's a real beauty and vitality in it. Instead of constantly looking at Apple, try Sony and Casio instead once in a while.

Just a reminder to listeners that the show is on break for a couple of months while we recharge (and create new stuff!). Be back soon!

I'll end with this - I've been getting into making these "diorama" spreads, where adding 2D layers to the page creates a new kind of space. Kind of a fluid collage, rather than a fixed one... 62/ Keep a #sketchbook! There are no rules!

Happy Sunday! I set up a space in the office for me and my daughter to make things side by side. Here's what we did. Mine on the left, hers on the right. She worked on hers with scissors and glue stick for over an hour. She's three! 😍 #sketchbook 72/

And here's one more. I've always felt that collage can be a bit of a crutch for me as far as image making goes. Sometimes I find myself settling too early - like here's one juxtaposition, that's enough... #sketchbook 82/

Practice celebrating the success of others. If you pay attention, you'll find you'll have a chance to do this every day. Do this and you'll be surprised by how infrequently you feel angst or envy. Peace & goodwill are cultivated by discipline, not won by emotional lottery.

I used to ride a bus to work every day for years. In that time, I got to know a lot of people, many of whom I never spoke to. Observing them - where they got on, what they carried and read, where they got off - yielded a lot of information. Social media is like that.
