Am so chuffed to have been shortlisted for a Staff Excellence Award for my work with QUB students, our Estates department and the wider construction industry on reducing embodied carbon in construction. It was completely unexpected but very much appreciated!

The timing of the peak cherry tree blossom is influenced by spring temperatures. Based on data from Japan stretching back to the year 812 (!), we see that in recent centuries the peak blossom has gradually moved earlier in the year—due to higher temperatures from climate change.

🌱A playing field in Belfast will soon see kitchen gardeners and climate scientists working together to focus on climate initiatives. 🔬The Botanic project follows a funding award from the Horizon Europe NI 2020 EU Upsurge Project and is jointly led by researchers from Queen's University Belfast 🎓
