What I am learning after teaching at several institutions is that my biomedical science training at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville | SIUE was truly exceptional. Kudos to the faculty in the bio department. Great value and a great education.

Don't miss this enlightening, special discussion at #TAGC24 moderated by past GSA Presidents Denise Montell & Tracy Johnson on eugenics: its history, the ways it persists even today & where we go from here. Join us as we strive to build a more inclusive genetics community!

Gearing up for a Dr. Tina Tootle lab takeover at #TAGC24! Two of my lab members, Ashley & Anna will be giving posters Thursday evening & I will be giving a talk on Saturday evening. Come & learn all about flies, prostaglandins, actin, & the nucleolus. Can’t wait to see you there!

Impressive international citizen science “Melanogaster: Catch The Fly!” shown by Dr. Josefa González Institute of Evolutionary Biology (IBE) LaCiènciaAlTeuMón training to capture/ collect/report natural Drosophila populations & use PCR to identify transposable elements.#TAGC24 Building an Equitable Scientific Future

The Forward Genetics session on education/outreach is FULL of amazing work. Thanks to Teresa Lee and Aimee Jaramillo-Lambert for organizing. I love seeing all of the communities come together to share stories and resources at #TAGC24.

For my intro bio class, I would like to include words of wisdom before each day of class. Who has inspiring (and entertaining) quotes from advisors? #TAGC24 I will go first: “It will either go great, or it will be over.” -Dr. Tina Tootle (helpful for pre-talk jitters)
