I saw this tweet a couple a weeks ago and screenshotted it because I loved the genuine humanity and openness it conveyed. Today I kicked off a workshop on online pedagogy by paraphrasing this. I think it went over well. So I’m just here to say thanks @jesshmitchell

Perhaps instead of faculty writing the casebooks, they engage their students in #openpedagogy by having them participate in the creation. Faculty can create meaningful writing assignments for their students while the school can save money by paying for student work with credit.

Wife and I once went to dinner at a hotel bar outside Zurich. I didn’t have any clean shirts so I just zipped my hoodie all the way up. Wife didn’t have clean pants so went down in leggings. We were woefully outclassed and it was apparent. We split an entree

I lucked out. I just finished undergrad with a BA in anthropology (🙄) and was looking for a job. I accepted the first gig I was offered. It was Saylor University. I never heard of #OER or #OpenEducation prior. I fell in love. Forever grateful to Jennifer Shoop who hired me.

As the #OERLibrarian cert wraps up, I feel compelled to shout out the extra special group I’ve had the privilege of mentoring and learning from the past couple months. My beach boyz ❤️

We talked about this last week at the innaugural #OERLibrarian Cert -how many titles of OER Librarian existed just 5 years ago? Not many. Today, nearly half our first group of cert participants have OER in their official title. Thanks @thatpsychprof for leading us into the future

If I were trying to bake in #openpedagogy principles into a course design worksheet for faculty, where would I start? In other words, how do I frame course design so that open ped becomes the default? #OER text, pressbooks, hypothesis, etc -- but not just the tools, the *design*.
