Please watch and share this moving speech by Tiwi leader Therese Bourke in the Senate last week. She's asking the Australian Govt to stop a law that would threaten First Nations consultation rights about offshore gas projects, and effectively bypass federal enviro law.

An important first step in advance of this week's Koala Summit in NSW. I'll be there and hoping to hear more on what else the NSW Government will be doing to address the key threats to koalas - deforestation and climate change.

Pleased to hear Hon Penny Sharpe at the NSW Koala Summit recognising that we need to pull apart and remake the NSW Koala Strategy because what we are doing now isn't working

Great to see Australian scientists leading the way. Our unique wildlife makes us particularly vulnerable to illegal trade and we need strong nature laws to back in this kind of research. Canberra scientists using DNA to fight trafficked parrot trade abc.net.au/news/2024-04-2…

New data reveals over 90% of animals caught in NSW shark nets this season were non-target species. More than half of them, including endangered species like grey nurse sharks and leatherback turtles, were found dead. Let’s end this outdated program 🐢🐢shorturl.at/hmtTY

Habitat clearing is one of the biggest threats to survival of species in NSW and it is just one of cascading impacts on our biodiversity. Write to Chris Minns Tara Moriarty Penny Sharpe to say: stop runaway habitat clearing and fix our nature laws: shorturl.at/gorT1
