Assistant Commissioner Paul Katnik tells the State Board teacher recruitment and retention in Missouri remains a challenge. Salaries are a factor in addition to stress related to the pandemic. Missouri has the lowest minimum teacher salary compared to neighboring states.

How the Missouri House voted on final passage on HB 349 It gives public school $ to private schools as vouchers. This is a $50 million cut to public schools. The bill received the exact minimum number needed to pass. If any Yes vote had been No-it would have failed. MASA Leaders
