Highest recommendation for River Shook & the Disarmers. Rollicking good show at the HI-FI | HI-FI Annex this week and four lights out albums. Definitely my favorite listen in the last year. Go see them live when they come around.

No one needs to know this, but the three different versions of the songs on Tyler Childers' Can I Take My Hounds to Heaven album remind me of Big Star's 3 albums. Greater production on the second followed by destruction/deconstruction on the third.

So, I love this Tyler Childers album. I think it is brilliant. The more I listen to it, the more I like the 'joyful noise' versions. (BTW, this should be listened to as a single album containing three parts. This is not a collection of songs.)
