Recent McMahon Lab PhD grad URI Graduate School of Oceanography, now U.S. EPA postdoc Catrina Nowakowski shares insights into multidecadal shifts in pelagic-benthic coupling in the Gulf of Maine from molecular isotope records of zooplankton and deep sea corals. #OSM24 #Isotopes #ClimateChange #MarineFoodWevs

McMahon lab PhD student URI Graduate School of Oceanography and One People One Reef scientist Josh Pi @AAd15N shares insights on shifting perceptions and practices of fishing in communities on Ulithi Atoll, Micronesia. #OSM24 #CoralReefSES #Fishing #InterdisciplinaryScience

Next up, me! Sharing collaborative work with Old Dominion postdoc Veronica Radice | @drradice.bsky.social, Smithsonian Panama and URI Graduate School of Oceanography postdoc Dr. Jonathan Cybulski, and HKU Baker-McIlroy Lab exploring mixotrophy in shallow and mesophotic corals with amino acid isotopes. #OSM24 #CoralResearch #Isotopes

Last but not least, URI Graduate School of Oceanography MS student Lindsay Agvent sharing insights into the movement ecology of Jonah crab in southern New England using multi-tissue isotope clocks and isoscapes to support sustainable fisheries development. #OSM24 #FisheriesScience #Isotopes #crabs

So proud of URI Graduate School of Oceanography McMahon Lab MS student Lindsay Agvent for winning the URI CELS Department of Biological Sciences Teaching Excellence Award for introductory level courses. #UndergradTeaching #RockStarTA #InclusiveTeaching

Hola y bienvenido Hector G. Torres De Jesús a nuestro laboratorio en la Universidad de Rhode Island. Connor, Lauren Zane, y yo esperamos trabajar contigo este verano.#NSFREU #QueerinSTEM Latinx in the Marine Sciences

Way to go Hector G. Torres De Jesús on your fantastic presentation for the URI Graduate School of Oceanography #NSFREU program. Hector is characterizing fatty acid metabolism in the coral-symbiont relationship of Rhode Island's Northern Star Coral, Astrangia poculata with McMahon lab's Lauren Zane and Connor love.

So much science! Lauren Zane, Hector G. Torres De Jesús, and Connornlove are working on fatty acid extractions, Audreyana Nash is working on an international amino acid isotope reference material project, and @AAd15N Josh Pi is analyzing herbivorous fish amino acid isotope data!

Congrats team, including McMahon MS student Lindsay Agvent, on this important and sobering work.

Congrats Lindsay Agvent on capping off a fantastic MS thesis with an awesome thesis defense. It's been so fun watching you grow as a scientist and so amazing getting to know you as a person. I'm so proud of you.

Excellent day for science and public engagement! #ScienceSaturday was a huge hit. Thanks to everyone for stopping by our table to learn all about the amazing people and research in the McMahon Ecogeochemistry lab. URI Graduate School of Oceanography #oceans #foodwebs #isotopes
