It’s a rather straight line that is drawn for this type of racist ‘scholarship’ to blaming our patients (especially poor pts or black/brown pts) for poor health outcomes. It’s a comfortable view b/c it doesn’t implicate the systems we let remain in place. Indifference is not ok.
