Undocumented immigrants paid $96.7B in taxes in 2022. T-Mobile, Office Depot and 21 other major profitable corporations paid $0 in taxes from 2018-2022 while getting billions in taxpayer subsidies. Just in case you thought it was immigrants who weren't paying their fair share.

My wish is that I don't die: this is now the only thing I dream about, says a young Palestinian girl — who used to dream of becoming a paediatrician

Trump’s former Director of WH personnel went to TikTok to mock Harris’s debate answer on abortion and challenged a single woman to come forward with a story similar to the one she described. It blew up in his face as nearly 10,000 did. meidasnews.com/news/project-2…

So many of us have been KJP. The way she decisively and firmly shut down the dehumanizing question—bc it’s not funny when people’s lives are on the line.

If we can't talk about a problem, how can we ever hope to solve problems--and isn't that what colleges/universities are supposed to foster? I do not like when far right speakers come to campus, but I recognize the right for them to do so. nytimes.com/2024/09/14/opi…

Receiving a call on 9/15/2001 from a Sikh American friend about the murder of Balbir Singh Sodhi will always be a part of my memory of post 9/11 backlash. The legacy of Mr. Sodhi's life + how it sparked solidarity across South Asian communities lives on today, 23 years later.

As I said on Democracy Now! last week: Israeli protesters in Tel Aviv can voice criticisms of their gov't that, if said by faculty or students at Columbia University or Barnard College, would get them disciplined, suspended, or fired.

I've been yelled at in cafes, cornered in bathrooms, had my coffee mug stolen, was harangued and followed to my office: all by white women whom, I assume, felt aggrieved at my existence in my former dept. Didn't go looking for nemeses, didn't want them. PS: I kept the receipts.
