theguardian.com/society/2025/m… Genuinely, all for Martha's law. Anything to give terrified, vulnerable patients and carers more agency. But is this GMC case really justified? Ringing alarm bells.

Why are Drs fighting for £23 per hour when a newly qualified Physician associate is paid £24.45 per hour The minimum starting point for The BMA negotiations should be MORE than what a NQ PA is paid .

A message to our resident Doctor colleagues. Fight hard for pay restoration, strike if you have to. I & many of your Consultant colleagues support you. We will cover strike action to keep the IP service safe. Lying down & accepting a mediocre settlement will only perpetuate pay

Hmm... The Leng review ? Perhaps we should align PA progression with this policy, though I don't think there's a realistic short cut other than GEM.

This is just embarrassing, GMC an organisation that takes £100’s millions from doctors each year apparently has less formal governance structures and accountability in place than my road WhatsApp group….

I'm sorry your grandmothers passed away, but can you still cover your shift. NHS managers are beyond parody at this point. (From r/DoctorsUK)

Why aren't we hearing very much noise from Resident Doctors on resident employment crisis this summer? Have The BMA opened a reporting portal or are they actively keeping track of how many are going to be out of work? How are we supporting them? Tx Emma Runswick 🏳️‍🌈 Dr Melissa Ryan 🦀

The GMC has lost the trust of the profession. They are no longer a fit or fair regulator. Today, The BMA is taking a stand. Doctors: sign the petition and demand a new regulator that puts patients and doctors first. e-activist.com/page/172664/pe…

independent.co.uk/voices/editori… The Independent this is an ill-informed article. Yes, prob better strategies for kids but adult obesity responds poorly to lifestyle intervention. Clinical policy should be EBM-led.

Important new paper shows PAs practised safely/effectively under direct supervision and in post-diagnostic care. Evidence does not support safety/effectiveness of indirect supervision of PAs in undifferentiated (pre-diagnosis) settings. bmj.com/content/390/bm…

I don’t think this can be said enough! My concern is though that some doctors have forgotten this. Those who promote taskification and pushing skill-mixing beyond where is sensible have done a huge amount of harm in forgetting this principle in the name of “innovation”.

theguardian.com/uk-news/2025/j… “This is worse than Putin’s Russia. I don’t say that lightly. It’s 10 years for doing what we’re doing today in Russia; it’s 14 years in the UK, because of Yvette Cooper’s outrageous betrayal of democracy.” Yvette Cooper what on earth are you doing?
