I submitted the paperclip illusion to the best visual illusion contest - it's up against some pretty stuff competition though. Check out the entries and vote for your favourite ones! illusionoftheyear.com/vote/

Whilst playing around with the Paperclip illusion discovered by Gavin Buckingham I made this. I see illusory bumps/circles at the intersections. What do you see and what scale is best? Music credit: Danse Macabre - Busy Strings by Kevin MacLeod. Licensed under CCA 4.0.

I found this particular admission startling. They were too busy getting the Anxious Generation out - the book that is even now being used to drive policy worldwide - to do the basic scientific analysis needed to show that the book's claims are true. Wild.

People writing books - would you post or DM me what % you're getting from the publisher? I have two projects I'll be confirming in the coming months and I could do with some reference points.

In a country that banned handguns decades ago, I really don't understand why the UK public are still allowed to buy fireworks. It's so dumb for about a million reasons. theguardian.com/uk-news/2024/n…

Does your ethics review board or IRB or Human Research Committee require sample size justification for non-clinical trials? Should it?

As part of my postdoc at Institut for Idræt og Ernæring, I worked on the translation of the DCDQ questionnaire into Danish. Spørgeskemaet er på #dansk og udfyldes af forældre for at tjekke #børns koordineringsevne. Now published :) doi.org/10.1080/110381… #DCD #børn #motorisk #udvikling

#OpenData folks - Any success stories on getting access to data used to report results in Frontiers papers? Their policy clearly states that it's mandatory to share data unless there is an ethical reason not to.
