Now Dr Cormac Quigley, Atlantic Technological University presents Real Exploration of Assessment and Learning (REAL) using Sophisticated Toolkits across NFQ levels. “People don’t want a one day learning curve, so how do we simplify?”

A refreshingly positive panel discussion on the potential of #GenAI in supporting learning. Prof Alan Smeaton describes the adoption of an #AI bot to support (but not replace) the teaching assistant function. Rebecca Roper notes the opportunities for student-staff partnership.

You can always rely on QQI to platform learners and give them a chance to share experiences & perspectives. It’s almost always my favourite session! The role of the student voice is essential to quality and relevant education at all levels and in all settings.

This is an important finding arising from this collaborative research project across the Irish Universities Assoc. institutions. Upholding academic standards is identified as the most important purpose of external examining and requires a common understanding between institution and examiner.

This research by Prof Marie Clarke University College Dublin & Dr Deirdre Stritch found that a reduced #assessment load & a better spread of assessment were identified by students as important factors in potentially preventing academic misconduct. Report available here: ucd.ie/teaching/t4med…

Some really perceptive insights in this study led by Andrew G. Gibson, which points to the need for education providers to adopt holistic, multi-dimensional strategies for promoting academic integrity in which pedagogy remains a central consideration.
