What a great first couple of days in the Ries crater! We have a large team here from 🇨🇦 & 🇬🇧 as part of a Canadian Space Agency- funded project to support the ExoMars PanCam & #Enfys instrument teams on ESA_ExoMars & explore how impact craters can form clays on Mars.

A lot of the sites we visited today and our discussions focused on how meteorite impact events can create habitable environments - e.g., hydrothermal systems & crater lakes - and how the ESA_ExoMars rover might identify such habitats on #Mars

Great to see this paper out from recently-graduated PhD student Catheryn Ryan - Putative biosignatures in hydrovolcanic tuffs from a Mars-relevant environment #mars #astrobiology #geology Institute for Earth and Space Exploration Earth Sciences sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

Had a blast today talking to Grade 9 science and geography classes at SCI_Lions school Thames Valley DSB about the 🇨🇦 rover mission and 🇨🇦 involvement in the #Artemis program to return humans #ToTheMoon Canadensys Aerospace Canadian Space Agency Western University

A really great article by Dr. Tanya Harrison - Trump’s Space Cuts Should be a Wake Up Call for Canada spaceq.ca/trumps-space-c…

It never gets old. Had a blast leading a field trip down to the floor of Barringer (aka Meteor) Crater, a 180 m deep 1.2 km diameter hole in the ground! #ImpactEarth Barringer Crater Co Meteor Crater
