It appears, to some extent, social media is producing an anti intellectual climate, driven by individual popup video media posts, whose commentaries don't appear to be connected to any real knowledge of history and its relationship to African people. Hopefully this will fade.

Another interesting observation is that some of the new forces of social media activism spend a lot of time attacking African people they believe are not properly representing African people. You hardly observe them attacking the system of white supremacy and their reps.
