I have learned that smiling at students and calling them by name goes a long way. This is not a profound truth… but it is an important one. Connecting with kids is a big deal. It doesn’t take much… but it almost always starts with a smile.

I had the chart on the board. Had students go "change their clip". Realized it was always the same students. Sometimes they would refuse. Now I realize it wasnt because they were mad about changing their clip; they were embarrassed in front of their peers.

Nothing builds “student-teacher relationships” like some 1 on 1 TOWER OF TERROR against the TEACHER! Let’s go! Volume up and watch until the end! #NextLevelTeaching #FLHornets
