Action is about to get underway around the state in the eight high school girls swimming state qualifying meets. Ottumwa is at the Waukee Natatorium for the 2nd straight year. Piper Gevock, already a 500 freestyle state qualifier, will compete in the 200 IM as well as two relays.

Piper Gevock will swim tomorrow in the 200-yard individual medley after finishing ninth in prelims. The Ottumwa (Ottumwa High School Activities) freshman posted a time of 2:10.69. Gevock's former Ottumwa YMCA teammate, Penelope Morrison, also qualified in the 50-yard freestyle for Oskaloosa.
