I Had a bilateral meeting with Turkish Health Minister Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu in Geneva. We discussed strengthening Somalia–Türkiye health cooperation. Grateful for Türkiye’s continued partnership and support.

I signed a regional MoU on behalf of Somalia to eliminate Visceral Leishmaniasis (VL) at #WHA78 in Geneva. We are committed to ending neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) through strong regional collaboration and national leadership. #HealthForAll #NTDs

I had a meeting in Geneva with senior officials from the IAEA - International Atomic Energy Agency ⚛️ led by Meena Singelee to strengthen Somalia’s cancer diagnosis and treatment services using advanced nuclear technology. This marks a key step in improving healthcare and fighting cancer in Somalia.

In the sidelines of #WHA78, Somali Health Minister Dr Ali Hajiadam Abubakar participated in a high-level Horn of Africa side event focused on strengthening regional collaboration to eradicate polio. He highlighted Somalia’s progress and commitment to a polio-free future.

I delivered remarks at the “Cardiovascular-Kidney-Metabolic Diseases Early Diagnosis and Treatment Forum,” held on the sidelines of #WHA78, emphasizing the need for early screening and intervention in tackling NCDs.

Honored to represent 🇸🇴 at the High-Level Cholera Meeting hosted by H.E. the President of Zambia. Cholera remains a threat to our most vulnerable—especially young children. Somalia is committed to working with partners to end this preventable disease.

I participated in a high-level panel on One Health in Tunis, engaging with fellow health ministers from the Middle East and Africa. Somalia is committed to advancing a unified approach to health – for people, animals, and the environment.

I had a fruitful meeting with H.E. Abdelhak Saihi, Minister of Health of Algeria in tunis. We discussed strengthening bilateral health cooperation and advancing shared goals in healthcare development. 🇸🇴🇩🇿

Honored to chair the the 3rd ReSCo Ministerial Meeting in Djibouti. Together with 14 member states, we advanced our shared commitment to cross-border health security, emergency preparedness & stronger regional cooperation.

Today, I officially opened the National Consultation on Somalia’s 2025–2030 Hepatitis Strategy in Mogadishu. Together with our partners, we are working toward a united, evidence-based response to eliminate Hepatitis in Somalia.

Today, I had the honour of joining the World Breastfeeding Day commemoration in Mogadishu. Breastfeeding is a foundation for lifelong health and development—we remain committed to supporting mothers and strengthening systems that protect this vital practice. #WBW2025

I had the honor of welcoming UNICEF Somalia’s new Representative, Ms. Sandra Lattouf. I also received GAVI-supported cold chain equipment that will strengthen immunization services across Somalia. Grateful to UNICEF & GAVI for their continued support.

Today, I received the WFP Country Team led by the Country Representative. We discussed strengthening our collaboration to improve health and nutrition services for the Somali people.
