After what seems like a decade or more & my 1st post on X, I've signed on for one purpose: Thank you my brother & sister veterans. We share the satisfaction of duty served. Our hearts, thoughts & prayers are with those carrying that duty now.

Here's my problem with the Alabama Supreme Court. I can look in my refrigerator and see the unfertilized chicken eggs as eggs, and not chickens. How the heck does an unfertilized human egg get recognized as a person? Just nuts.

Football season is back & with it the 49ers shaking off the bad & lookin fwd. Bought my 1st ever player jersey this year. Roger Craig. Many should be a Hall of Famer. He defined/refined the position. Met him on a plane coming back to Bay Area from LA. Humble greatness.

I can't say the $36.4 trillion debt is the same since the last time I looked. This debt is an existential threat to US economy. Basic budgetary discipline: revenues must not exceed expenses to maintain a balanced budget. Zero debt. Increase revenues, reduce expenses, reduce debt.

Thank you, friends. You know how to balance a budget. I know you know how to balance a budget. Why doesn't our leadership know how to balance a budget? This tariff fixation is a false hope. The Big Beautiful Bill is an economic fallacy disguised as a false hope.

You've done your research. You know that Customs duties (tariffs) only represent 1.6% to 1.7% of total annual revenues received. That's about $80 billion. Increasing that number by 100% with an aggressive tariff policy will provide little toward reducing the debt.

The uniform 10% tariff on all goods and services has been kick around. Last I saw that total number as in the $4.11 trillion range. Therefore, a uniform 10% is a $411 billion revenue opportunity worthy of consideration. However, it is not enough put a dent in the $36.4 trillion.

My 2025 commentary baseline (con't): 4. The US progressive tax system is flawed and should be abandoned. 5. Great leadership surrounds itself with the greatest minds, talent, and expertise in order to deliver the greatest value to its constituency. 6. Change must be managed.

If we're going to do something of real value to address the debt, an aggressive tariff policy alone will not suffice. The only other place for real potential impact is in our tax codes. That I pick up in the next round.

I'm happy to say that I'm back fine tuning the beta version for the fist installment of my four part (maybe five) science fiction noir mystery set in the 29th century. I write for entertainment.
