[The Affair]

Elegantly demure, the pained dame lowers a wine glass to the mirrored vanity. Reflected irises meet one another as dark tears +

- streak downward on both sides. Lips part ways to say a final word to the gentleman on the receiving end of her phone call. +

- "Flawed beauty is often true beauty, but you have to look deeply to discover it, Mr. Cobblepot. You, of all people, should know that." +

- The call ends, and the cell phone is placed down as the glass rises to her lips once again. Heartbreak overcomes us all at one point +

- in our lives. It devours the weak and emboldens the strong. Most affairs are short-lived with only a few standing the test of time. +

- This one stood for years, and it was sure to remain as the years came and went. This disagreement between secret lovers would wither in +

- due time, like many others have done in the past. She wouldn't dear hold her love for him hostage. But on this night, she wanted nothing +

- to do with the gentleman. Ruined mascara would eventually clear, and more reapplied. A slim, black gown would drape her elegant frame +
