Engagement is a core active task in mental health. If someone at risk doesn't engage, they need gentle yet persistent support, ideally from assertive outreach teams. Offloading high-risk patients—whether they’re at risk to themselves or others—is dangerous and must be avoided.

💯 % agree Dismissing someone for not engaging with your system is not an excuse. One size does not fit all. If you have lots of non engagers, take a look at your service and see if it's fit for purpose. You may need to flex your system for people. #PersistentEngagement

I'm really pleased that our local scheme to help Salford pensioners with a one-off £200 towards heating bills has had such a good uptake, with over 1500 households having claimed. Salford City Council are 100% committed to supporting our residents during the cost of living crisis.
