Nature vs Nurture, but the one no one talks about is CHOICE!! I would argue that it is more important then the first 2. Seen a lot of gifted people that come from good homes make poor choices. YOU make choices the other two you have no control over. Focus 3

In an effort to wish us back out into outdoor competition, here is nice data collected by Notre Dame coach Martin Stone from 35 women performing their version of the "Seiler-Rønnestad Hybrid HIT session" (40-20s instead of 30-15s). We need more data from female athletes!

Iron does in fact sharpen iron but iron gets its strength the the carbon in charcoal furnaces, to much carbon you are hard and unworkable, not enough and you are soft. Carbon=people around. You need just the right amount and type of people around you to make you stronger⚔️

I gave a talk a while back and I feel this slide is very appropriate for our world today. If I do my part and trust that others will do theirs, there is a chance we can overcome. #3rd500 #MotivationMonday

Grateful for the opportunity to serve these men in the Health Science department at Furman. We had and still have a great relationship that connected Athletics to Academics. Dr. Tony Caterisano has been a tremendous asset to the S&C field! He is a Legend!

Sports Science: The balance of training in a barn in Siberia with Rocky and in a lab with Ivan Drago. Sports Science has been around forever. GPS/load management is not Sports Science, it is just a tool they didn't have in 1985.

Look, talent comes everywhere, but having something to say and a way to say it to have people listen to it, that’s a whole other bag-JM True for every profession. A lot of aspiring young strength coaches they know their stuff but can they say it a way to get people to listen.

A High V02 Max is one of the best predictors of longevity. Oskar Svendsen, a Norwegian cyclist, topped out at 97 ml/kg/min. Insane. But V02 Max results of 20 times higher have been recorded. Sounds crazy, right? But it's true. 📕 Make Sure To Bookmark ✅ 🧵👇 /1

In honor of my 22nd fall camp I ran 16 110s today. I hit all my times for the 22nd straight year. I know 110s get a lot of hate but if a 40 something can make the times it is not a hard test. Not the best but not "hard". My hot take!
