Ahead of World Kidney Day 2025, we are happy to note the marked improvements in kidney disease programming, particularly with the Social Health Authority support for the hemodialysis benefit package and post-transplant medication. We look forward to enhancing primary-level screening.

On the 19th of June 2025 #WorldSickleCellDay was celebrated in Kilifi South Sub County. The main aim was to raise awareness in sickle cell disease, a key #NCD.

The Kenya #STEPwiseSurvey for #NCD risk factors is in high gear. With a sample size of 35,000 respondents, we are looking to review changes in trends since the last survey in 2025, powered to counties. This session was during training on point of care glucose and lipid testing.

The 2025 Kenya #NCD #StepwiseSurvey will have: 3 steps (hence the name) 1. A questionnaire covering nutrition, physical activity, tobacco and alcohol and other risk factors 2. Physical tests of Blood pressure, weight and height 3. Biochemical tests - blood glucose and lipids
