The folks who show up to our annual #CriticalRaceTheory Summer School never fail to inspire us. As we near the end of an incredible 5 days of community exchange, we send gratitude to everyone, new and returning, who joined us digitally and live on Martha's Vineyard!

It's so wild that we can "see" molecules now. Humans can do so many amazing things when we're not being miserable monsters to each other. I have hope tho.

Genuinely caring about students should be a non-negotiable qualification for a career in academia. Full stop. No amount of research achievement or creativity can substitute for caring about the professional development and well-being of those we teach and mentor.

People check daily reports about a certain human who has narcissistic personality disorder, therefore thrives on people checking those reports, and will NEVER stop behaving as a narcissist. RECOMMENDATION: How about we check ways to improve global/public/personal health instead?

If you have a Black patient, please stop automatically asking them how MUCH fried food they eat. That's 1. assuming that the PTs eat fried foods; 2. implying that fried foods are "bad" and go with being Black.

Let's instead ask our patients about what it is they enjoy, have access to, and dislike eating, and why these are so. Asking questions that allow folks to authentically and comfortably respond encourages freer-flowing and positively-impactful conversations.
