Really significant. Alabama challenged more than 3,200 people to prove their citizenship to vote and placed them into inactive status. DOJ (which is suing) says at least 717 so far have turned out to actually be citizens. That's an error rate of more than 22% from Alabama.

RIP Mr. Mutombo. He was a lot of things to a lot of people, but from the first time I met him, he was Mr. Mutombo. A consistent model of dignity that left a larger impact than even his massive frame would suggest. We lost a giant.

This is one of those times that I remind everyone that Black folks make up about 12% of the population. So six degrees from Mr. Mutombo - especially as a young man attending one of those Atlanta private schools - is a VERY easy game for my generation.
