Congratulations NT Greens. Stunning result. A massive rejection to Middle Arm, and the destruction of Lee Point. The Middle Arm inquiry was powerful - experts told us the toxic gas hub is dangerous and locals told us they donā€™t want it. People have voted with their feet!

Also, in the seat of Johnston, a progressive Independent is well placed to win. Labor is paying a very steep price for trying to outdo the CLP on crime. A lot of progressive Territorians acknowledge there is a problem but want the social causes addressed. Thatā€™s hard to do when

What have city electorates of Fannie Bay NT and Sydney NSW in common? Let me thinkā€¦high profile Labor Ministers who support Middle Arm, mega gas subsidies in an age of global heating. What else might they have in common 2025? #auspol

Former chief minister Natasha Fyles is trailing the Greensā€™ Kat McNamara in Nightcliff following a redistribution of preference votes, with Labor now on the verge of losing every Darwin seat it had once viewed as its heartland. FULL STORY: ntindependent.com.au/greens-lead-laā€¦

Greens win Nightcliff. Labors former leader Natasha Fyles lost her seat despite 24% margin. Labor has lost all of its Darwin seats including 1 to the Greens & 1 to an independent. Thereā€™s no such thing as a safe seat any more The pendulum is dead, its a wrecking ball now #auspol

The NT Greens have run our biggest campaign ever. We ran on integrity & halting the destructive gas expansion. And we were the only party challenging the harmful tough on crime narrative. We gained record swings in multiple seats and may win our first seat in Parliament.

This morning's re-count has reduced the Greens' lead to 33 votes but, with only a few postal votes to be counted, also confirmed the Greens' victory, defeating former Chief Minister Natasha Fyles. abc.net.au/news/electionsā€¦ #ntvotes

Congratulations to our formidable Kat McNamara, the new member for Nightcliff! We have made history this election and elected our first Green into Territory Parliament! There is so much at stake and weā€™ve got a lot of work to do over the next four years!

The NT Greens have made history, claiming their first seat in parliament after a three-way count put them ahead of #Labor. It is the first time in NTā€™s 46 year parliamentary history the Greens have claimed a seat with Kat McNamara beating Natasha Fyles. canberratimes.com.au/story/8754771/ā€¦

It was a privilege to lead the NT Greensā€™ historic campaign in Fannie Bay. Hundreds of ppl in the community mobilised to give Fannie Bay a strong progressive alternative. Weā€™ve put the major parties on notice. A safe seat is now extremely marginal. We are not going anywhere!

I just got out of the biggest weapons expo in the southern hemisphere. I saw: - Politicians looking for their next job, - Companies selling weapons tested in Gaza, - And lots of public money going to foreign arms companies.

While we welcome this important step towards ensuring Beetaloo fracking projects are assessed, this decision doesnā€™t go far enough. Ancient aquifers & the Roper River are at immediate risk from Tamboranā€™s threats to start drilling. All works must stop. abc.net.au/news/2024-09-1ā€¦

The United Nations overwhelmingly voted to demand Israel's government end its illegal occupation of Palestine, 124-14. Australia abstained. This was another gutless decision in the face of an ongoing genocide.

Children should NOT be in prison. I have long been a firm advocate of #raisingtheage of criminal responsibility. I explained why in last weeks ā€œIn conversationā€ with Stan Grant at the Sydney Opera House-when I was asked about this. You can view the video here and donā€™t forget

Territorians standing together against the CLP and Federal Laborā€™s reckless gas expansion in the Territory. We donā€™t want fracking, we donā€™t want Middle Arm. We want our government to start acting for us, not the gas industry.
