DID YOU KNOW? In the last few months alone, LPS has added 26.5 Full Time Equivalents (FTEs) for special education and 5 FTE for General Ed? That's 31.5 FTE for 53 new students in a budget that includes only 7 unallocated FTE. #FactsMatter

It is critical for administrators to support their teachers if issues arise with students or parents. If you don't have their back you will never have their trust. Always support publicly and if needed critique in private.

The reason I focus so much on leaders encouraging and appreciating staff is that praiseworthy actions are often invisible but mistakes are almost always highly visible. Look for the good and celebrate it.

I didn’t realize that the only reason the education system functions is because of the unpaid labor of educators and that so many teachers pay for and beg for their resources… until I became a teacher.

The reason it is so important to focus on teachers' strengths is because most teachers are highly agreeable and highly conscientious. They already know their weaknesses because that has always been the focus in education, and because teachers are their own worst critics.

There is one thing all students want to feel & that is WELCOMED! Make them feel welcomed to your class! * greeting them at door starts the day off right! * Welcome them with a smile * Call them by name * Take time to listen to their story * Tell them you're glad they're there

Teachers, your students may not remember everything about your class, but they will remember that you cared, showed grace, made them feel valued, and encouraged them to give/ become their best. They will remember that and you forever.

Nicholas Winton helped 669 Jewish children escape the Nazis. His efforts went unrecognized for 50 years. Then in 1988, while sitting as a member of a TV audience, he suddenly found himself surrounded by the kids he’d rescued, now adults. I like to remember this every Jan 27th.

It’s unfortunate because those standards could be on the opening slide of her presentation. In my opinion, it is little concepts like this that drain the motivation out of teachers.

Natalia Hall-Rosa is averaging 19 points and 9 rebounds per game in a breakout season for the B-R girls basketball team. She bolstered those numbers with 24 and 11 in a win over Dracut last night. ⁦BR Athletics⁩ ⁦BRGirlsBasketball⁩ . enterprisenews.com/story/sports/h…
