Lovely visit to St Chad's Church #Shrewsbury today as organ practice was in full swing 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 St Chad's is a fantastic example of Georgian church architecture, with innovative use of cast iron columns as part of its design when opened in 1792, now Grade I listed by Historic England
A visit to Shrewsbury Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings this week. Great to see the conversation work by Historic England which has gone on to save the building. The cast-iron frame construction was revolutionary in 1797, and makes this building a precursor for all later steel-framed skyscrapers
A fantastic opportunity with UCL Archaeology South-East for a keen student of #Roman pottery!

Great to see Newcastle City Council historic plaque I nominated to Jack London unveiled today with friends from the North East of England African and Caribbean Association. Jack was originally from British Guiana/Guyana and a Team GB silver and bronze winner at the 1928 Amsterdam #Olympics
Witnessed shocking scenes today in #Tynemouth. Called into the English Heritage site of Tynemouth Priory and witnessed what looked like a riot. People openly carrying weapons like some sort of medieval scene, not a baron or justicar in sight 😓 #RiotsUK
The #medieval priory and castle at English Heritage #Tynemouth #NorthEast #England as seen from the North Shields-Amsterdam ferry. The site has been a defended settlement since at least the Iron Age, right up to the 1980s coast guard station visible on the right of the promontory
