He finds it rather unlikely at the knight will so flagrantly disregard his instructions.

Smart woman. He doesn't appreciate having his motives or actions questioned, particularly not in public.

Perhaps the knight has underestimated him.

He can be quite /persuasive/ when the situation requires it.

He's unconcerned by the knight's stubborn nature; after all, he does have a fairly intimate knowledge of Ren's weaknesses.

Is it really an exploitation if the knight enjoys it?

And this is why he likes having /real/ authority, because that would never happen.

He won't be forced to confront such a situation; he's not planning to answer.

He'll survive without answers as long as the knight does as he's told.

Huffs quietly. "He got us in this damn predicament in the first place."

He /did/. The knight's the one who made snide remarks about stop and search procedures in the first place.

Smirks across the room and wonders whether Ren's regretting avoiding his particularly loud thoughts.

Sinks back in his chair and sulks. Apparently he'll just need to think of something far more crass.

Grumbles and stalks away to his office. It's not as if they have any real deadlines to speak of.

Sprawls out on his couch and continues to brood. He'll just redouble his efforts at distracting Ren during their next staff meeting.
