The big idea behind passkeys is that passwords are _fundamentally broken_ and that solution to the problem is not to layer on top of them, but to replace them. Offering ā€œpasskeysā€ as a second factor confuses people and puts a false ceiling on the potential benefits.

CONFESSION: I didn't buy an EV because I wanted to help the environment. I bought an EV because electric motors are way better than combustion engines, and way more fun to daily drive. They are better cars in every way.

Today Google open sourced PebbleOS and it makes me incredibly happy. That codebase and that team I still have so much pride in. I remember typing `git init` during the Kickstarter campaign in 2012 and worked on it until we were acquired by Fitbit in 2016: github.com/google/pebble
