I was invited as a panelist with five men. I was stoked to see one of those men respond as below before I could. This made my day! So, here’s how to politely decline a #manel invite. Pls plagiarise as necessary:) ManelWatchAu @lisaharveysmith

The coherence is finally back, I had to wait only 10 months 😜. #Sentinel_1 interferogram between Sep 1st 2021 and Jul 10 2022 shows that the uplift (~10 fringes - ~30 cm) at #Askja continued during the winter.

The current cumulated melt over Svalbard, from June 1 to July 31, is 1.5 times larger than the previous record from 2018, an event having a 1 in 3.5 million chance if climate were completely random. Learn more in our latest Greenland Ice Sheet Today post: nsidc.org/greenland-toda…

This will probably be a positive year for Drangajökull glacier, most of it still covered with winter snow after a cold June and July. False color near-infrared image acquired by #Landsat8 last Sunday evens show fresh snow around the margin

It wasn’t about making a political statement – human rights are non-negotiable. That should be taken for granted, but it still isn’t the case. That’s why this message is so important to us. Denying us the armband is the same as denying us a voice. We stand by our position.

50 years ago, at 2:00am a volcanic #eruption started on the island of #Heimaey, on the south coast of #Iceland. A 300m long fissure eruption opened up and quickly extended to around 2km in length with 50-150m high lava fountains - crossing the island from one shore to the other.

Volcano responders and scientists that have experienced eruptions such as Eyjafjallajökull & Bárðarbunga are shocked over the news that Landhelgisgæslan intend to sell TF-SIF, a radar equipped airplane which has e.g. provided early outburstflood warnings. #ekkiseljatfsif #dontsellTFSIF

Winter is coming to an end. In the Alps, it is the poorest in terms of snow in the least 6 years (significantly). See the comparison in this image - this year the white color is almost absent on the map (it indicates a cover above 150 cm). 🧐
