This one was quite a challenge... It shows #Rotherhithe pre-Southwark Park, and before the docks extended over the pasture at #CanadaWater, cutting through the Grand Surrey Canal. Rights of way to stairs and slipways at the river, and SO many pubs. “Old & New” Friends of Southwark Park 🌳 Our Rotherhithe

Thanks to Henry on Tour for the invitation to share my work on WHGazetteer, Layers of London, and Viæ Regiæ, and to hear about the fascinating discoveries that they're making about travel in Tudor England & Wales. Beautiful foggy morning in York.

Out now: Aaron Wyanski reimagines Schönberg's Suite for piano op. 25. He arranged these 20th century, twelve-tone stylised baroque dances adding a 1950s lounge music vibe to it — without changing a single note! Listen → aaronwyanski.bandcamp.com/.../schoenberg… #SchönbergReimagined

London's medieval customs accounts are incredibly rich sources - so rich that even though Stuart Jenks has transcribed them, they're still overwhelming to use! Dr Stephen Gadd (docuracy.bsky.social) and I have been piloting a project to make them much more easily searchable: blog.history.ac.uk/2024/01/unlock…
