This is disappointing to say the least. Angela Rayner and Wes Streeting, here’s hoping you will offer a much needed sense of optimism for those of us working in and reliant upon social care. What’s the plan?

This story has a happy ending. The family launched a go fundme to raise £20,000 for the equipment needed. This morning they’d raised £5000. This evening they have £28,000 after 1000 donations. Important article by Oliver Slow. There are many more Taylor’s across the country

I’ve been boring on about the need for a Labour government forever. So disappointed that one of the first actions of leadership was to think ‘ooh yes, I’ll have some free stuff’. Just think, and be better than that. Please.

I think this is a 100% accurate assessment of the state of the NHS, and our responsibility to cherish it, help ourselves where we can, and mend social care

Thanks BBC Radio 5 Live for talking to me about the Carers allowance overpayments scandal bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/li… (from 5.54) Carers UK are pleased to see the Government announce an independent review and look forward to supporting liz sayce as she undertakes this vital piece of work

Every now and again I read something on Twitter/x that reminds me of how it can be a force for good and understanding

So use AI to review the previous detailed reports into the future of social care, and produce a new report and recommendations by the end of this week, rather than 2028

There is so much bias, so much opinion when it comes to reporting the Israel/Gaza conflict. The BBC receives loads of criticism. This report from BBC Middle East correspondent Lucy Williamson seems, to me, extraordinarily balanced. And terribly sad bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

This is something I blather on about to anyone who will listen. Part of the government’s problem is its total inability to present a motivational overarching narrative. It should be this: that this government aims to have the world’s leading education system within ten years

What on earth is a ‘radical far centrist organisation’? The BBC and NHS are two of our country’s most glorious organisations. That does not mean they are immune from criticism. But it does not mean the Telegraph and its correspondents should seek to demean them both incessantly.

The irony of the whole Trump bad edit thing is that his speeches do not need dodgy editing to make him sound like a deranged man child. He can do that all by himself, most days.
