Fife’s free uplift scheme quadrupled the number of bulky uplifts, but not impacted levels of fly-tipping. Latest update given to councillors at Levenmouth Area Committee informed the local authority has increased handling from 14,000 bulky uplifts last year to 55,000 this year.

CCTV cameras equipped with AI have been introduced by City of Wolverhampton Council in order to prevent fly-tipping. The council has reported that the cameras were funded through a grant from the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra) worth £49,119. #dontflytip

Hart District Council successfully prosecute man who dumped building waste, including asbestos, in local field. He has been fined £3,800 after being found guilty of 2 offences at Basingstoke Magistrates Court after a satellite navigation device was found in the waste linking him.

Inverclyde Council urges culprits to stop fly-tipping as “ignorance is no excuse”. They have reminded those responsible that they now have the power to hand out £500 fines after the penalty imposed was increased from £200 by the Scottish Government earlier this year. #dontflytip

Inverclyde Council received 300 dog fouling complaints last year, issuing total of 12 fines. 500 reports of fly-tipping, issuing 54 fixed penalty notices for illegal dumping, up from 31 the previous year. Council brought in £4,900 from fly-tipping & £400 from dog fouling fines.

Yorkshire road used as fly-tipping dumping ground, & Kirklees Council intends to prosecute by sifting through the evidence. 2 tonnes of rubbish were abandoned on Cliffe Hollins Lane, forcing the road to close earlier today. A bathtub & rolls of carpet were among the items found.

500+ reported incidents of fly-tipping in 2023 in Teignbridge alone, an additional 312 in 2024. Teignbridge Council has a sliding scale of fines, depending on how serious the tipping is. Their recycling incentive means less in landfill, putting council in top 12% of country.

Sheffield resident was fined £300 after bin bags found dumped on country lane in Derbyshire. North East Derbyshire District Council tracked down the resident after council workers dug through the discarded bin bags for evidence, and were able to link the waste to the property.
