Every time I say I don’t want to get married or have kids, people take an extraordinary amount of time to convince me otherwise. Like why don’t you take that time to fix your dead marriage and spoilt kids? At least there’s a chance there.

A white comedian last night asked me my name while I was in the audience. Hesitantly I said “Dilpreet”, certain she won’t get it. With full confidence, she goes, “Hi Lulpreet!”

13 Australia India Institute fellows, including Elon Musk & Hari Bapuji (హరి) 🇮🇳🇨🇦🇦🇺 have resigned over concerns about the institution's vision and values. It appears there are worries about Aii's intersectionality around Aus-India relations. An official letter has been sent to Michael Wesley. (1/2)

I am not surprised. The institute's decreasing ability to hold space for the marginalised has been evident for a long time. Although, it is interesting to see not 1, not 5, but 13 fellows resign. What will @UniMelb do? Which India matters this time?

My special for southasiantoday was picked up the The Wire today. Yesterday, The Age also wrote on the matter. Stories about academic freedom must be brought to light. You can read my report here: southasiantoday.com.au/article-10222-…

Prof Mattoo told The Wire that a 2019 public lecture on 'violence' by Thomas Hansen at the Australia India Institute was turned private due to 'security reasons'. I thought, why not speak with Thomas directly about it? So I did. Listen in. southasiantoday.com.au/article-10225-…
