August 11, 1940 Sunday Chester folks Elmer & I all went to Foot washing. Ina was there. Omar went home with Ina Elmer & I staid Ona all night.

August 13, 1940 Tuesday I finished washing Ona come we work in Apples Elmer & Chester got out Ties timber Harlan Caudill & Clate Kissick past down by here it raining to night

August 14, 1940 Wednesday I commence to make Apple Butter & Jelly & Ironing Elmer took cream to Sharkey come home said Boon was worse. I went to Sharkey went with Thelma to Allie. Junior Barber went to hospital Aug 14.

August 26, 1940 Monday Charlie help Elmer I went to Sharkey back by Lella Ina Johnson come & help me in Apples this eve I caned Tomatoes. Walter Ruby & Wilma Jean come stay all night Ona & girls here this morning this eve there was a strange man out at the branch

August 27, 1940 Tuessday Ruby Walter Jean Elmer & I all at Ona to day I piece on my quilt while there. Walter folks went home he left old Doll Mule up here to wean I come home caned tomatoes it rain today
