MSG's commitment to addressing these issues is reaffirmed & re-demonstrated in the MSG Leaders agreeing at their 22nd Summit in August in 🇻🇺to adopt the Udaune Climate Change Declaration. This Declaration complements the 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific continent.

Additionally, I highlighted the importance and significance of the Samoa Agreement to enhance and support the MSG countries engagement with the EU to complement & realize the development efforts and aspirations for their people.

We acknowledge China's generosity and indeed this occasion once again clearly demonstrates, in a very significant way, the readiness and genuine desire of the Chinese Government and its people in providing whatever assistance is needed by its partners.

This agreement is a step in the right direction as it underscores our commitment and opportunity to collaborate with UNCTAD in the identified areas and in turn contribute towards sustainable development in the MSG sub-region.

Indeed, a new era of partnership for MSG & Australia with these two new initiatives ready to get off the ground. We look forward to soaring to greater heights together as we write a new chapter ahead for Melanesia.
